Secure Encrypted FTP

All 3DPixel.net shared hosting accounts are able to make use of standard FTP, and FTP over SSL / explicit TLS.

3DPixel.net has always always recommended the use of secure FTP, namely FTP over SSL / explicit TLS via our guide at our support pages

Advantages Of FTP Over TLS

Really, this should be a section entitled the disadvantages of plain FTP. The original FTP protocol was developed when the Internet was essentially a friendlier place. FTP transfers files in an unsecure, unencrypted fashion. It is relatively trivial for someone on the same network as the client to obtain the usernames and passwords using a packet sniffer.

FTP over TLS solves this issue through SSL encryption of your data through a secure data channel. 3DPixel.net provides SSL certificates for FTP over TLS use. Details of which can be found in our support pages.
