Spam Filtering

Making use of our self-built anti-spam system codenamed Trap25, 3DPixel can offer you a massive reduction in the amount of spam you receive.

Unlike other spam systems, our spamgate system works in conjunction with the Plesk to provide maximum protection. Prevention of dictionary attacks, mailbombs, backscatter via a combination of validrcptto, nolisting, greylisting, Auto-whitelisting, RBL-blacklists and finally spamassassin with custom 3dpixel.net rules.

Where Does All The Spam Come From?

Two Tier System

3DPixel.net offers 2 levels of spam protection depending on your needs.

Basic Spam Filtering: Making use of our Blacklist engine, validrecipient and greylisting technologies, all accounts at 3DPixel irrespective of payment have basic spam filtering. This filtering will cut out a large amount of spam from your inboxes.

Enhanced Spam Filtering: With enhanced rulesets, and additional technologies versus the above basic spam filtering, 3DPixel.net offers Enhanced Filtering for £14.99 (plus VAT) per annum. Enhanced Spam Filtering from Trap25 gives you the ability, on a per-email-address basis, to log in to our control panel and review and 'release' spam you may consider false positive. This level of spam filtering is under constant review from 3DPixel.net.
Upgrade or add Enhanced Spam Filtering to your account today via support@3dpixel.net or your account settings.

Why Does 3DPixel.net Charge For Enhanced Filtering?

This spam filtering project commenced in April 2008 as a small effort to reduce the amount of spam coming into the 3DPixel.net network. (Blog Entry). Since then it has turned into Trap25, a fully fledged transparent anti-spam system that fully integrates with the Plesk control panel. Trap25 blocks upwards of 600,000 emails per week (November 2009) and as such requires staff resources to maintain and constantly adapt to new spammer tricks.

3DPixel.net is committed to maintaining a suitable filter for all customers via the basic spam filtering option available on all accounts.
