How Do I Set Up Email On An Android Device?

  1. We recommend the use of K-9 Mail for Andriod. Search in the Google Play store. It's free!

If you choose another mail client, aside from some visual differences, the process is exactly the same.

In K-9 Mail. Click on the settings button and 'Add Account'.

  2. Enter the full email address and password.

  3. Choose either POP3 or IMAP.

POP3 removes the email from our servers and stores them on your Android device.

IMAP leaves the email on our servers enabling you to access them from multiple devices at the same time, including desktop email clients and webmail. This uses more diskspace than POP3.

  4. Enter the full email address and password. The mail server will be given to you in your account settings however we're using scandium.3dpixel.net as an example. SSL is available so please use this. If you have issues with your phone provider and SSL, then turn this off.

  5. Set the outgoing mail server as given to you in your welcome email and / or account settings. Change the port from the default to 2525.

  6. Save the settings. Then send and receive your first email!
