Microsoft Outlook - Secure POP3 / IMAP Email Setup

In order to download email to your computer viaMicrosoft Outlook, you must first have created an email account in your Plesk Control Panel.

Upon installing and opening Outlook for the first time, a new account window will appear, or indeed if you already use Outlook please select from the menu, Tools >Account Settings and select 'New'

Ensure that you do not use the auto setup feature. Check / tick the box towards the bottom left of the window to manually enter server details.

Ensure you are using a pop3/imap account.

Fill out the User Information

Account Type: POP3 or IMAP (we recommend POP3 for Outlook)

Incoming Mail Server: use the 3DPixel.net server name and NOT the template mail.yourdomain.com. This will allow you to connect to your email via secure SSL. Your 3DPixel.net server name can be found in your welcome email. If you cannot find this please contact us.

Outgoing Mail Server: If you have purchased SMTP support with 3DPixel.net enter smtp.3dpixelnet.com here. If you have not purchased SMTP support please enter the outgoing server details your ISP has given you. 3DPixel.net cannot help with this information.

Logon Information: This is the username and password you have set up when creating your email address.

Important: Never use the 'Test Account Settings' button. It never works and will simply serve to confuse.

Important: Click the More Settings button towards the bottom right of the screen.

Outgoing Server Tab: This is where the outgoing SMTP information is added. If you have purchased SMTP from 3DPixel.net then this information is sent to you in a seperate email shortly after you have registered an account. This information is singular for every email address you use via 3DPixel.net (i.e. nothing to do with your incoming user details).

Advanced Tab: This is where the change to secure SSL is made, irrespective of the fact if you're connecting via POP3 or IMAP. Check / Tick 'this server requires an encrypted SSL connection'

Outgoing Server: If you have purchased SMTP with 3DPixel.net change the outgoing server port from 25 to 2525.

Ok all the changes and save.

Send / Receive will now work.
