One of the hardest things to do with your account is adding another domain to your control panel. Note: this is only possible with 500MB, 1000MB and 2000MB accounts.
You may have purchased an additional domain with ourselves or another registrar. If the domain was bought through 3dpixelnet, nothing needs to be done with the nameservers. If the domain was purchased elsewhere the nameservers need to be changed to point to ours. These are:
ns1.3dpixelnet.com & ns2.3dpixelnet.com
Adding a domain to your control panel will usually involve allocation of diskspace and bandwidth/traffic. By default, all your account resources will be allocated to your first domain. e.g. if you have a 500MB account, your first domain will have all 500MB diskspace and 5GB traffic assigned to it.
Firstly this needs to be changed. Log in to your control panel and click on your domain name. On the following screen in the domain section please click on "Limits" to view the current allocation.
** Remove the resources from this domain that you would like to assign to the new domain you are about to add and confirm the changes. You will receive an error if actual resources exceed the limits you have changed to. **
Click "up level" and return to your main account page. Click Add New Domain and enter the domain name you wish to add.
The next screen prompts for a username and password; these details will be used to connect to the FTP site to upload your files.
For basic functionality please ensure the following are checked:
SSI Support PHP Support CGI Support mod_perl Support Web Statistics Custom Error Documents
Confirm the changes.
On the following screen please click "Limits" for that domain and assign the resources that you removed from your other domain. If you exceed total account resources you will receive a warning and a suitable limit to enter.
If you purchased the domain at another registrar there will be a delay in your domain becoming active on our servers as the changes filter through the internet.
If you purchased the domain through 3dpixelnet the domain will become active when our DNS cycle goes through. This happens every 6 hours (12am 6am 12pm 6pm GMT). E.g. if you add the domain at 10am it should come through at 12pm. This is not guarenteed but it is a good basic rule of thumb.
